Democracy in Australia: Home

Your task

There are THREE parts to this task. All your research needs to be recorded in Google Classroom: https://classroom.google.com/w/NDc3NDQ0NDYxNjJa/tc/NDc4MDk0MDYzMzda

PART 1

Choose SIX significant people from the list. TWO of the people must come from LIST A; TWO from LIST B; and TWO from LIST C.

You will need to include:
(i) their name
(ii) year of birth and death (not for those still alive)
(iii) information about their family and where they grew up
(iv) what their contribution to Australian democracy was, and the significance of their contribution. What changes were made? What was done differently? What was new? This needs to be the most detailed part of your research.
(v) You will produce a persuasive piece of writing which ranks these six people in order of the importance of their contribution to Australian democracy. You will need to justify why you have ranked them in the order you have chosen.

PART 2

Choose ONE significant event from LIST D, research information about that event and and how it contributes to Australian democracy

(i) create a detailed informative piece of writing to present your work based on your research. Your writing should include factual information about the event, a timeline (important things leading up to the event, the event itself, and some of the important consequences), the people involved, and its contribution to Australian democracy.
(ii) You may present a glossary of unfamiliar words as a list at the end of your writing.
(iii) You may use images to illustrate your work.
(iv) Your information should come from more than three sources (books, websites, etc.), and should be presented in your own words. You should provide a bibliography of your sources, made using the SLASA online referencing generator (use the Middle School option).
